WOW!!! What news!!!!

So. This weeks big news... My sister, Shelly, is ENGAGED!!! Really really exciting! Her fiance's name is Ian and he is awesome, so I really couldn't be happier for her. Doesn't seem real, but it definitely is. Crazy thing is, they have been dating for a short period of time and are getting married on Aug 26, OF THIS YEAR!!! For those that are mathamatically challenged, that is 2 months and 5 days from when I first heard the news! Thing is, if anyone can pull it off in that amount of time, it'll be her. This sucks, cause she had told me before that maybe next May, but now I have 2 months to tan, get in shape, and figure out what to say in the speech that I am sure I will have to make!!! Wow. I am still soaking up this new information and can't even pretend to have enough interest in another subject right now, this one occupies my entire brain...
In fact, I don't even have a joke!

Oilers... and some other things

Ok. Sat. Game three. Down two games to none. Am I a little nervous? Darn straights! Am I a little worried? You bet your bootie I am. Have I still got faith in my Oilers? Naturally! I have yet to give up on them, despite their heartbreaking 5-0 loss in game two and the devestation of losing Roli the Goali and dropping a 3-0 lead to lose game one 5-4. I Was shell shocked after that game, poor Roli. And although most people say otherwise, it wasn't all Conklin's falut, and not just Bergeon and Staois either, but I would include Captian Smith in the list of players who messed up. Staios let the puck bounce over his foot, while Bergeron stood and watched the donkey(aka Brind'Amour) take off down the ice. He just stood there! THen there is the obvious, of Bergeron pushing Laad into Roloson, but he was just doing his job. Finally is the stupid play that gave away the lead to the Huricanes, Conklin's mess up behind the net, which is where I figure Smith messed up, he fanned his clear. So it was both! However, despite that terrible finish to what started as a good game, and game two which I don't even what to comment on, I still believe we have a chance. I mean, these Oilers got to round four didn't they? That in itself says alot, because although a hot goalie helps, it takes a team to win. That said(I really felt like posting my opinion to the world), tonights game shall be interesting.
It's been a fun week. I have been out with people from work 3 times this week. Tuesday we went to name that tune at Brothers for the second straight week, and it was awesome! We somehow got 2nd place last week, and this week we topped that with a first place finish! Go team! Then Thurs is was Kareoke with almost 20 people from work, good times! THen yesterday we hit up the Eskimoes pre-season game. It was a sad game, but we work with one of the cheerleaders, so we made a sign for her and got on the big screen and had alot of fun.
THats my week. Pretty sad really, but a ton of fun! Go Oilers Go! Take care, and until next time,
What do the Calgary Flames and a tea bag have in common?

Both are only good for one cup!

ahem

I want to start this out simple, so that all the doubters out there can clearly understand... ahem...
THE OILERS ARE IN THE STANLEY CUP FINALS!!!! YAH BABY!!!
I also would like to mention, that those papers Mikey passed around with all the teams in the play offs on which we were supposed to perdict the winners of each series, guess who picked Edmonton-Carolina in the final. Yep, that would be me! So obviously, I am really pumped, and can't wait to return to Whyte Ave...
Outside of hockey, life is the same old same. I am working my butt off at the truck stop, and sleeping very little. As far as I am concerned that means life has returned to normal. I have begun thinking about where I would eventually like to try apply to to find that elusive second job(and by elusive I just mean that I have yet to try looking) but so far it is a short list. The thought of leaving the Flying J(truck stop) after running around and serving and then going on to another job is not an appealing thought by any means, but it is a necessary one.
So, with nothing really newsworthy to report, I just wanted to place my love for the Oilers online for all to see... I do love the oilers... Take care, and until next time...
"There was a couple getting divorced. The judge was talking to the children about custody and says to them, 'I have decided to send you to live with your dad.' 'No! No! We can't live with our dad, he beats us!' The children responded. 'Well then, that wont do,' The judge has had a quick change of mind, 'Alright then, you will live with your mom.' Again the children cry out, 'No! No! We can't live with our mom either, she beats us too!' At a loss the judge asks, 'Well then, who do you want to live with?' After thinking for a moment they respond calmy, 'The Toronto Maple Leafs, they don't beat anybody!'
