Entering the world of Blogs

Most likely this is pointless, if I can't remember to write updates to people, then who is to say that I will actually remember to type blogs to an empty space? But, it never hurts to try, and try I will!
As I continue my headlong rush into summer, I can't help but wonder at the purpose of everything. I am working full time at the truck stop that I used to work at, I was hired at BP's but after one shift decided that it definitely wasn't for me and went back to the truckers. Sometimes I really like it, there are some fun people working there and the customers are always interesting, but then there are days like today where it just seems like nothing is going right and there is nothing that I can do about it to make it better. I hate those days, they make life miserable and put a damper on working. It will get better, I know that too, just an off day, nothing more.
Life has been pretty uneventful otherwise. I went camping for May Long, ended up nice and burnt on my back and legs. What a painful experience, definitely time to start wearing sun block! But other than that and the 3 hours or so of rain, 2/3 of which was absolutely pouring, it was a pretty good weekend. Turned out better than I had thought it would.
Been to Whyte Ave a few times in the last few weeks which, for those few who don't know, is where everybody parties after the Oilers win a playoff game. It is insane out there sometimes!!! (I'll try to post some pics at the bottom of this). Actually, believe it or not, I even got to go to a play off game and it was FREAKIN LOUD in there! It hit 114 Decibils apparently (Game three vs San Jose, 6-3 win for the Oil). And, afterwards, I got Chris Progers Autograph. Yep. It was sweet!!!!!!!!
Beyond that life is the same old same old. I honestly can't think of anything else that might be interesting or worth sharing. I will say that I can't wait for my trip to BC in early July. A note to any Surrey people reading this, I will be there on July 1-2. Hopefully some of you will be around for that long weekend. Otherwise it is Kamloops for the nights of June 30 and July 2, and Vernon from the 7-9 (when I will leave with Jack(ie) to return home). The rest of the week is going to be alot of beach time hanging out with extended family in Scotch Creek. Gonna be a sweet week, and I really hope that I can see some of you. It's my only real holiday this year, sure hope its a memorable one!
On that note, I will stop writing with a joke and then attempt to post pictures...
'A blonde walks into an elevator and says to the guy standing there, "T.G.I.F." The guy looks at her a little funny and responds "S.H.I.T." Slightly perplexed the blonde shakes her head at him and repeats, "T.G.I.F." Still the guy simply looks at her and says "S.H.I.T." Finally, the blonde turns to the guy loudly stating "Thank God It's Friday!" He stands there for a moment and replies... "Sorry Hun, It's Thursday." (I thought it was funny)

This shot (taken by the one and only Jaret Stoll) actually turns out to be a goal. I am pretty sure that at this point the puck is sitting in the legs of that San Jose Player. Shortly after my flash went, bedlam erupted.

Well this isn't after the stoll goal, the poms they are waving were a very common sight all night. And despite the fact our seats were in the 300's, they were right on the center line.

These are a couple pictures from Whyte. Crowd surfing was really common, and if you look close enough, there is a person on that lamp post.

So, this picture is awesome. This is me (obviously), in front of the riot squad. They were all huge men and really serious, just standing there while people tried to get high fives or a smile or any sorta reaction. Shortly after I took this picture they apparently started walking forward and trying to lessen the crowd somewhat. It was pretty sweet to see them.

This is a slight idea of what the streets were like after eliminating the San Jose Sharks from the 2006 Playoffs. The sheer number of people is hard to grasp, even for me and I was there. Going west from the right picture, the crowd filled the street at least half way down the block. It was insane and loud, and, to be honest, smelt really bad. This is the night that a firecracker ended up in a shopping cart and blew it up, injuring the two girls in it at the time. These pictures were taken by me as I was sitting on some random guys shoulders. Just as he was walking by I had commented that I wished I could get a picture, so a minute later, I was sitting above the crowd on a strangers shoulders. What a night!!!!!

Well, here goes nothing...
